I would never know which theorems or postulates to use or how to order them (and I was a good math student).
How Crosswords Came Of Age In The 2010s
I know my students need some scaffolding when it comes to proofreading, as well as some fun. I like to use fill-in proofs because it helps them see the structure of the proof. Students complete the evidence by completing both statements and reasons, then enter their answers in the crossword puzzle. Each puzzle has two clues – one for the crossword and one for the clue. I like how the activity gives students a chance to check their work – they can easily spot a mistake if their answer doesn’t fit or if the letters don’t match. It also gives them some clues if they get stuck as they may have a letter or two for the word they are trying to complete.
