This is a kit for gluing blocks together and painting them as you choose. They are not painted. Your kit includes the pieces you need to make the box, the outer frame piece, and the letter of your choice—all unpainted.

We recommend using a wall hanging kit including glue, all the hardware you need and a drill bit and pieces of velcro to stick it together so the placement can be adjusted. Full instructions are available on our website.

The back is hollow. Can be hung or stacked on the wall or used as an accessory.

The blocks are made of 1/4″ draft board and cut with a laser cutter and the edges are dark brown. You can paint them any color you like but they look great unpainted. They come with a protective layer that you peel off while using it.

Toy Story was the main inspiration. Since my husband is into all things Toy Story and Pixar, I (Asia Cook) decided on this theme. I got some of my ideas from the Toy Story Mania ride at Disney World and used the shapes, textures, colors and feel of the movies.

I thought about what symbolized Toy Story and Andy’s room: clouds (of course), toys, the Pixar lamp, soldiers, the shape of the moon, the star on the Pixar ball, the globe, the stars, etc. I also played in moderation. Some things are doll size and some things you look like doll size.

Toy Story Bedroom

I made the lights versatile and magical. I used the tension between the cowboy and space themes to make it interesting. I wanted it to be Toy Story beyond the decals and Toy Story bedding.

Because we are designers, our style can bend and sway to our clients’ preferences. Our style is consistently fun, whimsical and beautiful. This particular room leans heavily on the fun side.

There are so many little details in this room that I love. I love the globe. Andy had a globe in his room, but this particular one lights up with stars when the room is dark, matching the space theme.

The rug adds the cowl pattern from Woody’s vest, as well as fills the middle of the room.

Solar system is cheap but it adds a lot to the room. Planets are more beautiful than I thought. They also glow in the dark.

I love the cow humidifier because it’s usually a necessary ugly item, but this cow fits the cowboy theme perfectly.

I got a barrel of monkeys and hung them on the curtain rod adding another cute little detail.

The crib and changing table I used have a circus feel to them, but they will work for future nurseries as well.

I also love old fashioned Christmas lights. They’re really fun and add the interesting lighting I’m looking for. The floor lamp reminds me of a picture lamp (also in Andy’s room) but that red pop is repeated throughout the room.

There are lots of DIY projects in this room. I love making them and they save a lot of money too. Generally this room is very cheap. I made blocks with my dad. He helped me make the boxes (which I couldn’t afford to buy) and then we painted and put the letters on the front. The letters can be found here.

I also sewed the seat cushion, curtains, poppy cover and pillow. A poppy cover I made out of bandanas. (I wouldn’t do it again without a pattern.) For the pillow I used a cowboy bandana on one side and the back of an old pair of jeans on the other and sewed a red bandana on. pocket. I worked very hard. I actually had to do the room twice because we moved when Cyrus was 5 months old. It is very valuable.

It is very fun there and every child should play in his room when they come.

I have two favorite products. I love clouds! Our cloud stencils are available here. They can make a room feel very cozy, even if nothing else in the room does. I’m sure they’ll last him until he’s at least 12.

Another favorite of mine would have to be airplanes. You won’t believe what I went through to get it. It’s the centerpiece and I adore it!

Don’t take the Toy Story elements too literally. Play with them. The plane in the picture is a toy plane about 4 inches long, but mine is a statement. The Christmas lights in the first movie are the usual small ones, but mine helps to play with size. There are so many ideas on Pinterest that I don’t really realize until the room is finished. Use what you have. Toys are essential and you can use cowboy boots, cowboy hats, rope etc.

One thing I love about this room is that the color palette isn’t too strict, so you can put anything in it and it won’t stick out like a sore thumb. This is practical as kids get older and collect random things on their many adventures. I never thought I’d choose a Toy Story theme for my nursery, but now I love it!
