Amazon.com: Wooden Blocks For Toddlers 1 3
I bought this classic activity cube for my 9 month old daughter – she still loves to play at over 5 months

For the seats, the receptionist, the other patients, maybe the fish? I also see one of those toys where you can jump over a chain link.
My poor daughter Ellie could never play with these toys in the doctor’s office waiting room. Call me a germaphobe, but I don’t want him touching toys in a room where sick kids are moving around all day. Lucky for him, this waiting room has now become a staple in our home as well.

Enter the Battat Tree Activity Cube. These toys are so stereotypical of waiting rooms that they look weird in your house, but hear me out.

The activity cube has lots of colors, bubbles, and manipulative activities that keep kids engaged while helping them develop new skills.
I love a toy that your kids can grow with, and this one definitely is. There are lots of fun animals and colors for babies to use during tummy time, activities for crawlers on all four sides, top baths for toddlers and counting moving figures.

It’s beautifully crafted, much more than just plain wire. Colorful doors open and close on all four sides, animal-printed blocks to spin, cylinders to mix and match, and wooden chips to fall.
Every time Ellie goes through a new developmental phase, she seems to rediscover this toy, and at 14 months old, she still has a lot to learn. The company recommends this toy for babies 12 months and older, but I bought it for Ellie when she was 9 months old and she loved it too.
It’s a sturdy wooden cube that kids can use to pull themselves up, although you should keep an eye on your kids in case they fall.
When Ellie learned to stand and walk, she would use it to prop herself up, and she never collapsed. The four corners are cut, so there are no sharp edges, but the wood is still sturdy, and your child will definitely get hurt if they fall on it. I still keep an eye on it, so if your child is at that developmental stage, definitely stay close.

The cube also works great for toy rotation. I try to change the toys that Ellie can play with more often to keep Ellie interested in them. Because this cube has so much activity on each side, I keep this cube in a corner and turn it to the walls every couple of days to freshen things up.
A similar but more expensive option is the Melissa & Doug First Bead Maze, which would be a good choice if you’re only interested in the bead part of this activity cube. To keep it in place, you can move the ToyerBee Bead Maze from the floor to higher surfaces as your child grows.
How much time does Ellie spend playing with her activity cube? Overall, I would recommend this colorful toy to babies and toddlers looking for a product that helps them learn while playing.

Young children don’t need to fill in the alphabet with flash cards and write letters. Although these measures are effective, they can be frustrating and thus ineffective. I love creating games and activities that involve tools or toys that my kids love. My daughter is really into math links right now and we are doing letter recognition so this activity is great. These alphabet snub cube mats are great for working on those super important motor skills, plus they build letter recognition and feel like play, so kids will never complain about using them!
This activity is super simple and fun! We can focus on one letter of the alphabet at a time and delve into the formation of the letter. Each sheet also has a picture to help the child with the beginning sounds.
I also included a space to write the letter multiple times. Once a child has formed a letter with the cubes, this is a great time to practice writing the letter several times. Although the moving cubes don’t allow you to form the letters correctly like handwriting, they are a good representation and kids get a chance to look at the letter below and work on their muscle memory as they practice writing the letters.
Each time we finish a page we can move to another letter. Letters can be chosen randomly or arranged alphabetically. This is great if you do a letter of the week program or if you refer to the letters in a specific order. You can add to your literacy center as children learn letters.

Prep: Free printables. If you plan to laminate, go ahead. If you decide to use the bags, add an Alphabet Snap Cube Mat to the bag.
To use: Whichever letter you choose. We start by telling you which letter it is, about the picture and what the letter sounds like. Next, we build the letter with the cubes of the cube, using the diagram in the table. Once the letter is created, we use a dry erase marker to write the letter several times.
After the table is completely done, we return the cube letters and select a new letter table.
