Chunky Wooden Letters 12 Inch – Our standing wooden letters are great for creating decorative accents in your home. They come unfinished but are easy to paint and come in several font styles. These wooden letters are custom cut and create a stylish look when displayed as a monogram.

Each letter is precisely cut from MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard), which is a treated wood made from small wood fibers pressed together to form a strong composite. This material is excellent for interior signs and craft letters.

Our standing leaves will have a flat bottom to stand on. This can reduce the height of the letter by 1/4 inch depending on the font chosen. Some letters, such as J, P, and F, may need additional support to stand. This can be done by applying double-sided mounting tape to the bottom of the letter, leaning it against an adjacent letter or a wall.

The letter height you order is based on the uppercase “A” of the font you specify. Depending on the typeface, some upper/lowercase letters may be shorter or taller than the height you specify on the order form, so they will appear proportional to each other. Therefore, you may receive some of your signs in other dimensions than the height of the ordered letter. If all the letters are arranged in lowercase, we will still adjust the letters to an uppercase “A”, which will make most of the letters smaller than ordered. Letters that are 3/8 inch and thinner are laser cut, leaving a dark smooth edge.

Crafts With Wood Letters For Gifts Or Decor

Make a big impression with sturdy and durable wooden letters. These thick wooden letters make for very striking signage. Two pieces of MDF boards are expertly laminated together to create thick MDF letters cut to order and then sanded smooth before shipping.

These are thick wooden letters designed for indoor use, making them ideal for large sign letters in reception and behind the counter in the store.

Compressed wood fibers bond together for an even lacquer finish and are ideal for decorative rounded and beveled edges. Paint the thick wooden letters with a latex paint spray or brush in the color of your choice. The first coat of paint may lift some of the composite fibers on the sides. Use sandpaper to smooth them between layers.

Thick MDF letters can be quite heavy depending on the font. They can be mounted using studs, which are threaded aluminum spikes that protrude from the back of the leaf. The mounting template will show the location of the studs and is used to drill holes into the surface where the sign is mounted. Alternative mounting options are heavy duty adhesive or drilling screws through the face of the letter. The wood finish may differ from your monitor. Contact us to verify the size.
