Dedicated Crossword Clue 7 Letters – Crossword puzzles have been published in newspapers and other publications since 1873. They consist of a grid of squares where the player tries to write words both horizontally and vertically.

Next to the crossword puzzle will be a series of questions or clues that relate to different rows or rows of boxes in the crossword puzzle. The player reads a question or clue and tries to find a word that answers the question with the same number of letters as the box in the corresponding line or line of the crossword puzzle.

Some words will share letters so they will have to match each other. The words can vary in length and complexity, as can the clues.

This Sunday before the national primary election, deep into the pandemic, it’s time to address a lingering complaint that has been clogging up my email inbox for the past two months.

Some readers don’t like our new daily crossword that we started publishing on March 15th along with the new weekly Sudoku. Changing puzzles (or comics) is difficult at the best of times because newspaper readers are (bless them) creatures of habit. And as such, they value their daily dose of Jumble comics, “Peanuts” or crossword puzzles.

We made the change to reduce costs and streamline the production of comics and puzzle pages across all of our sister papers.

Readers unhappy with a new puzzle coming to us from the Los Angeles Times mention the joy of completing the crossword puzzle and how much they need that daily distraction in this time of crisis. The most common complaints are that the new puzzle is “too difficult,” its clues are “too obscure,” or the answers rely too much on pop culture knowledge.

“It used to be fun and semi-challenging – not too easy, but certainly not the lesson in frustration I now find every day,” said one reader. “Clues can be ridiculous on two levels: Either they’re obscure, unknown (to most anyway), or they’re so long they don’t make sense.”

The puzzle comes to us from Syndicate, who describe it as “one of the funniest puzzles in the world” that offers “a touch of humor and puns.” So I decided to reach out to Rich Norris, editor of the Los Angeles Times Crossword, to see if he could help readers out. Here are our questions and answers, slightly edited for clarity.

A: Yes – except Sundays. The puzzles are slightly harder every day from Monday to Saturday. Monday and Tuesday are the easiest, Wednesday and Thursday are intermediate, and Friday and Saturday are the hardest.

Sunday has an average difficulty, similar to the mid-week puzzles – except that Sunday is a bigger puzzle and will take longer to solve.

How To Solve The New York Times Crossword

Both the theme and the clues can contribute to how challenging the puzzle is. At the beginning of the week, the topics are fairly straightforward, but the clues get a little more difficult each day.

Answer: The Wednesday puzzle had a common theme type in which the circled letters help the solver to solve the theme. The theme is “wood filler”. Different types of wood are written with the initial and final letters of the answers, for example “PIZZA STONE” which means PINE. So the circled letters at the beginning and end are “wood” and the remaining letters are “filler”.

A: There is pop culture in our puzzles, but on reflection it’s a fairly small percentage (10 to 20%) of the entire puzzle. We try to spread such links across various topics and media: sports, TV, movies, drama, music (classical and popular), literature, popular brands and so on.

We also aim to include both older and contemporary pop culture. (As an example, one recent puzzle I looked at had clues about Bart Simpson, Eva Longoria, Salma Hayek, Jayne Mansfield, Barbra Streisand, Henrik Ibsen, and Babar the elephant.)

Grid T 5 5 Answers

We also do our best to spread these links throughout the puzzle so that there aren’t too many in one area.

Q: Do you have any strategies to share? I know when I do a puzzle (rarely) I start with short words, but maybe you have something smarter. Anything you can share will help!

Answer: Starting with short words is a good strategy. Fill-in-the-blank clues can also be a good starting point, as can clues that provide a famous person’s first or last name and ask the solver to fill in another name, such as (Alda from the movie M*A *S*H”).

Dedicated Crossword Clue 7 Letters

Another suggested solution: look at things. If there is a word that solvers do not know, or if they are stuck on the name of an actor, singer or writer, they can use the information in the help to look it up.

I know some solvers resist doing research while solving (I’m one of them), but there’s nothing wrong with that. A few years ago I knew a woman who solved our Saturday puzzle every week. She described to me how she put all her manuals on the dining room table, opened the paper and started solving, stopping to look for what she didn’t know or couldn’t figure out. It became a learning experience and as the weeks went by she needed her books less and less.

Nowadays, most solvers have computers, which would certainly speed up the search process a lot. There are even sites specifically dedicated to helping puzzlers find the answers to crossword puzzles.

A final thought on this: if solvers can’t complete the puzzle, they can look up the answers the next day (or the same day online) to see what they missed. This is another way to build problem-solving skills.

The crossword puzzle is so popular that several bloggers write about it, explaining the themes and clues. Check out one of them here: https://laxcrossword.com/
