Dodge Tires With White Letters – Also, watch out for tire wear as it can cause parts of the white letters to darken.

This is an older thread, you may not get a reply and you may be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread. It has been quietly asked a few times here and on some of the other boards we sponsor that with today’s retro vehicles (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, etc.) why are there no white letter sidewall tires?

I don’t have an answer to this question, but I’m curious to see some of your answers to my questions…and those questions are:

1) If a tire manufacturer produced a white letter tire for today’s retro vehicles, what sizes would you like to see?

Just so everyone is on the same page, I’m not saying this will go anywhere outside of this thread/forum, but I will definitely pass this information on to some of the big tire manufacturers.

RWL – 245/45-20 on mine! NO Outlined white letters. Full lettering like B.F.T/A and old Goodyear Polyglas tires.

Must be RWL as above but would like to see some of the following sizes for a few of our vehicles… Indy Rams haven’t had solid RWL tires since the Firestone Indy 500 Firehaws were discontinued in 275/60R17.: redcap :

Goodyear had the best looking RWL ever made with polyglass, I’m surprised they didn’t realize the potential value of the brand. One look at Mecum will tell you how popular that polyglass look remains. And please, not the oversized letters like on the Goodyear Eagle GT II.

If it’s retro, it needs to be muscular and needs wide tires. I would buy in a heartbeat.

Yellow Dodge Ram

RWL all the way! There is a HUGE market for these tires and any tire company that sells them will have it all in no time. Word would spread like wildfire through the forums (ALL muscle car forums), so minimal advertising costs.

I see that RWL is made in the 18″ sizes, but not in the 20’s. Not enough sidewall in the 20’s…the letters would be small!

I sell tires for a living and there are a few people who would buy them if they were available. That said, I wouldn’t buy them for my trip.

I like the look of the image posted by HellRaiser. The 20’s are the most popular for the Challenger and a large size for a car of this size.

Raised White Letter Tires

RWL only!! I would definitely go for the 18″ and would love to see 245 to 295. I think the 18″ will give a better look with more pavement visibility. I know a few guys who run 18″ wheels and they look good. It would tighten with RWL.

Bring back the solid tires with BF Goodrich lettering and make them for 20″ rims (to fit the new Challenger and Camaros).

Make a standard 245/45/20 and some in larger widths…255-315 for about $150 – not in any ridiculous $270 price range.

Or just make this tire with raised white letters because they don’t produce any kind of touring 20s in 45 ratios… BFGoodrich g-FORCE T/A KDW 245/40ZR20 95Y BWl Tires

It would probably look better on a truck, but at this point any RWL tire for 17+” rims is a step in the right direction.

White Letter Goodyear Tires…..

Great customer support and selection. These people actually have permission from the tire companies to use there exact logo. It only took me an hour to prepare and install. Very easy way!

Permanent Tire Stickers

I washed them through a brushless wash and they held up very well. I don’t use tire polish because I have wheels with submerged plastics. I haven’t seen too many people doing this mod, but I see it trending. A lot of people like them. I was tempted to try it, but you can buy their temporary decals for $20 that blend right into the tire to give you an idea. I liked it so I bought the permanent ones.

Love this look!! I got mine from treadwear and I really like them. It is always better to have several companies to choose from. :YOU:

This is an older thread, you may not get a reply and you may be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread. The stock Firestone Transforce tires that came on my 2018 2500 are about to give up the ghost and I started shopping around. My truck is black with the sport appearance cluster (black badge and black rims). I like the look of the raised white lettering on the tires (I know a lot of people prefer black sidewalls). Of the calls I’ve made so far, the only tires I’ve found with raised white letters are the Firestone Transforce, which I’ve not been impressed with based on the performance and longevity I’ve experienced. Has anyone else managed to find an alternative with raised white letters? One store I called said raised white lettering is all
