October Nail Artist Of The Month
You will receive one (1) sheet containing 20 sections with one letter stencil and 1 letter sticker each:
Apply nail polish to your nails and wait until completely dry. We recommend using a quick dry top coat over nail polish or bare nails to create a flat surface that will help the product adhere better. Make sure the nail is dry and free of oily residue before applying the product.
Lightly press tape/stencil onto the nail using a finger, paying particular attention to the areas near the skin, the cuticles, and the tips of the long nails. You can always cut nail tape to size if they are too long and cut stencils to help them better form the top, sides and curve of the nail. Try peeling stencils from different directions if you have trouble with smaller pieces not remaining on the backing paper. Find your direction and peel quickly, with a stencil close the backing sheet. When small pieces remain within a stencil, flip and stick/peel the stencil to the back of the paper to remove all the stuck pieces.
Apply fresh or thinned nail polish, not thick or gooey, across the tape/stencil. Shimmer and metallic nail polishes work better than cremes. We recommend applying nail polish with a sponge pressing it lightly on your nail, like an ombre design, this prevents any bleeding of polish under the stencil giving cleaner lines. Remove excess nail polish from your skin and cuticles by using a flat brush dipped in acetone or nail polish remover.

Remove the tape/stencils immediately after applying your nail polish using your fingers, tweezers or tweezers while the polish is still wet. For better results pull the tape along its edges and stencil following the pattern.
Wait until your design is completely dry before applying the top coat. Use a fresh or thinned top coat, keep your brush parallel to your nail and try not to touch the nail with the brush, only the drop of top coat should touch the nail to prevent smearing. If you want to leave stickers on your nails you should apply 1-2 thick layers of top coat to completely seal the stickers on the nail.

I created this design in June because I was invited to show my nails at an art show! But I wasn’t happy with how my old picture looked, so I decided to recreate it and take better pictures (and use a lot of glow in the dark nail polish of course). The art show was this afternoon and everyone was SO nice! I got a lot of compliments about being so different, not being on a regular canvas. I met some really great artists and even saw some familiar faces, so I had a great time 😀 Now click, come see the glow pics!
I started out with OPI Alpine snow for the base because I like to have a white base under certain glow polishes. I did the gradient using Parrot Polish Glow Hot Lips, Glow Tonic, Glow Mr. Yuk & Glow Blaze. These are all gels (which makes the glow super bright!) so the white base was definitely useful. I also used Serum No. 5 Ultra Violet or the purple on the pinkie to complete the look! The only way for me to make a gradient now is to make it glow. And I have to say, I did a nice job on this picture!

I know everyone will think this stuff was stamped, but it really wasn’t (which is why I *attempted* to record a video tutorial). I used my Basic One Gold detail brush from Christrio Scotland which is the perfect brush for this type of work. It’s a thicker brush than you’d normally use for fine art, but has a sharp tip that’s great for tiny lines. But when you put more paint on the tip, and apply a little pressure, it makes thicker lines. So you only need one brush for a wide range of art!
I’ll talk you through this tutorial, so you can easily recreate it. First, apply your base color and let it dry thoroughly. I tape off your cuticles to minimize cleanup afterwards, I use scotch tape and medical tape (it’s nice and flexible).
Time for the gradient! Paint strips of your chosen colors onto the sponge, allowing them to overlap slightly, and gently roll the sponge over your nail to make the gradient. This may take some practice to get a smooth result! Once you’ve achieved a nice look, remove the tape and apply a top coat to your gradient nails.
This is the best part, my sincere apologies for the parts that are out of focus. I had to use another camera that I am not used to. This also means I had a different setup and had to look down at the freaking tripod in front of my face, so the art came out shaky and wibbly wobbly. I recorded it THREE times and then it went with the first version. But ok! Take some black acrylic paint and paint your letters. Choose your letters according to general shape, stick round letters in large open spaces and thin letters between two others. When you think it looks good, top coat and you’re done!
