It’s not the trailers that make me want to play a game as much as the soundtrack behind it. In that sense, I think the best date anyone could have gotten me would have been two tickets to the London Philharmonic Orchestra when they played the “Greatest Video Game Music” session.
But instead of paying to fly halfway around the world to attend a concert, there’s a cheaper alternative to being able to listen to what I love — by learning to play it. As an added bonus, you’ll have something to brag about to your friends.
It’s also something you can add to a resume, along with cooking, to attract potential dates. This can be a scary reason to learn how to do something, but it works.

That’s why I’ve compiled a list of songs you can learn how to play the piano, from easy to difficult. I know a few of them, and I am working on others myself. (Although, for the really hard ones I can bribe a friend to play for me.)
If you’re looking for an easy song to learn, this one has an easy loop until the 1:09 minute mark. From there, you will need to make a measurement on the left hand, while the repetition continues with the right hand. At 1:29 it goes back to repeating with long notes, so it becomes easier to pick out the notes on the piano and remember their positions.
Another easy to repeat song at the beginning, “Elizabeth’s Theme” starts with your left hand and your right hand comes in at 15 seconds. The 1:06 minute might be a problem if you’re not used to the positions on the keyboard, but unfortunately it’s not both hands that have to move the keyboard up and down.
Repetition helps when learning pieces on the piano. With this piece there’s more emphasis on the right hand than the left, which definitely makes things a lot easier than you’ll encounter with later songs on this list.

Was nominated for 14 awards in music alone, so it helps his friends to at least learn this piece.
The last part is not in a particular game, but in a group of them. So check out Two Steps From Hell and “Braveheart.”
With a slow start, “Braveheart” picks up around 32 seconds in with the right hand at 45 seconds. There is a lot of repetition that helps you learn how to play the piano, but left hand intensity is something else entirely.
I’m still learning this part myself, mostly because I picked up the bad habit that the left hand is stronger than the right hand. It’s kind of empowering, but I still want to learn this song and you should too. However, if you remember
Play Apple Seed (attack On Titan) Music Sheet
This is the song that got me interested in learning piano. I talk about goals and stuff like that all the time, so this is mine. Sometimes it is apianissimo, which means to play softly. It does have a build though, and for those who have played the game it speaks to the audience.
Although overall, Final Fantasy is on the more challenging side when it comes to learning to play the piano, it doesn’t make it any less rewarding to learn and play. Then there’s another piece of Final Fantasy, with “Jenova” from
And it deserves to be presented with a beautiful piano accompaniment. While the song itself may sound intimidating, the difficulty is mostly in the fast movement. At first there is a bit of power, or a heavy key which then goes to a softer version. But thankfully, there’s no wide range of going up a few octaves (I tend to make mistakes on those myself). However, this piece is easier than “One Winged Angel,” which is on our list of learning songs.
The piano version is very close to the Orchestral version, which makes it much more interesting to learn. The intensity of the song is a step higher than the rest of the songs recorded so far. But if you can do it, link a video in the comments so the rest of us can check it out!

I’ve attached the orchestral version for “One Winged Angel” below, if you’d like to compare the two pieces. And if you’re interested in something even more challenging, check it out
“Cohen’s Masterpiece” was a blast to write. He was described to me as a mad but talented artist but reactionary in his artistic tastes. Little did I know that Cohen would shoot the pianist who was practicing the piece. It was a LOL moment when I discovered it!
If you are trying to learn this piece, you will need to be prepared to go from a powerful stroke to a soft key press. It may take some time to learn, but this section will be a great goal to have.
A bonus track. All of the videos I shot in the last few slides were made by AtinPiano, and you can find his channel here.
