The Social Security Administration releases baby name information each year based on the total number of births for the year and Social Security card applications. All names in the United States are reported based on the First Name field on the Social Security Card application. To be considered, the name must be at least two characters long. Names that occur less than five times in any region are excluded.
The SSA divides the list into one for girls and one for boys. Yes, there are neutral names, but each name is written according to the gender of the child.
Editor’s Note: The list below represents the most recent information from the Social Security Administration. It shows the data from 2021 based on 2020 birth.
As for neutrality, unisex names are growing in popularity. Names inspired by superheroes and superheroes are on the rise, as our world faces challenges many of us have never seen before. On the flip side, we’re also starting to see funky names like those from the cottagecore aesthetic and those starting with the abbreviation e.

In 2022, Ava and other names with long syllables, such as Ayda, Ayla, and Faye are starting to appear more frequently. “Ever” names like Evelyn and Everly are on the rise, as are “Elle” names, like Eleanor, Ella, and Eliana.
Long names seem to be on the rise as many of the fastest growing names are longer than four characters.
Denisse’s rapid decline is notable, as she was listed as the fastest growing name on the list of the most popular girl names of 2020.

Karen, who was not very popular, to begin with, has also fallen into disrepair, perhaps because it has become a popular and derogatory term for a woman who is responsible and untouchable.
In the last year, the name Cora has dropped significantly, as have the first names and initials of Cove. This can happen due to contact with COVID-19. In addition, we are seeing a decline in the popularity of the following names: Coral, Coralie, Coraline, Cordelia, Corey, Corrine, and Cove.

We are expecting our fourth and last child and after three boys, this one is a girl! I want ideas from you and your readers for girl names.
Our sons are Eben, Bode and Cael. We like names that are unique but not surprising. All names in the family are 4 letters long (including mine and husbands) but we don’t stick to that. Thanks for the helpful consideration!
Baby Name Trends For 2022
Congratulations on baby #4! It seems that you have established a four letter system for your boys, especially since you and your husband also have four letters in your names.
My answer is “It depends.” It would be great if you could find another four letter name that you like. But your sons’ names have many forms – they end in l, they end in n, they end in e. The basics and meanings are different for each. So even though most of the characters are the same, there’s a lot that makes them different, too.
None of your baby’s names are in the US Top 1000, even the various Cael and Bode charts do. Bodhi comes in at #810 and up, while Kale sits at #825 and down. However, it is very rare.
In some ways, just choosing a non-Top-1000 name with a modern, slightly unexpected vibe can complete your family well – even if the name is three or five letters long.
Chinese Baby Names For Boys And Girls
That said, I’ll try to stick to four letter names for my purposes. I will also remove every name from the US Top 500 for girls. (Though it’s up to you if you want to stick to this rule – it’s crossed my mind a lot, like Anya, Isla, and Lena.)
All of these -ara names made me think of one that isn’t four letters, but fits the way your children’s names sound: Carys. It is a modern Welsh name for love, popular in the UK but almost unknown in the US. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas gave this name to their daughter in 2003. This makes American parents known, but not well known.
And one last five letter name: Djuna, like the author Djuna Barnes. It is a very rare name, and the D is silent. You can also go with Juna alone, as in Juno and company. But there is something strange about Djuna that can be very attractive.
What would you call the sister of Eben, Bode, and Cael? Can you follow the four-character team, or do you have long and short stories for Lindsay and her husband to consider?

“My husband and I like short names (4-5 letters), but he likes female names and I like unique and unknown names. Some of the ones we are considering are Miko, Yara, Maura (me) and Lucy, Daisy, Norah (her). Please help me !”
Short names make up many of the top names in the country, such as Mia, Ava and Emma. 4 letter girl names are so rare, many don’t even appear in the top 1,000!
The Most Common Unisex Names In America: Is Yours One Of Them?
Most of these four letter names end with the words A and Y which sound short and sweet but unique.
I love that most of these names are a little different for short and sweet girl names. Like Etta or Esme instead of Emma, Lula instead of Luca or Lucy and Nori or Naya instead of Norah. They give the same feeling, but they won’t sound as good on the playground!
What still falls into the category of short names can be 5 letter names! Names like Willa are already rising stars, but some of the best we’ve found are classics. Think Livia instead of Olivia or Della instead of Ella.
Many of these names can be long nicknames, if you want to go the other way:
