Despite all these rich and varied uses, you can start engraving yourself using only a few tools.

To engrave on metal, start by cleaning the surface with a damp cloth and allow it to dry completely. Then trace the pattern onto the metal before securing it to the work surface with a clamp or vise. Then apply the tip of the engraving tool or chisel to the surface of the metal at an angle and gently chip off the pieces of metal. Try to start with a straight line for the first attempt, keeping the tool at the same angle throughout the engraving. Once you’ve finished the straight part, move on to more complex lines and shapes. Here’s how you do it. First, choose the right metal based on what the project requires. If you have the ability to engrave, we recommend a minimum depth of 0.025″ for paint fill. Deeper is always better depending on the thickness of the material. If there are tool marks after engraving, remove them with a sandblaster with 150 grit silicon carbide or aluminum oxide. This will also give the surface more teeth for the paint to adhere to and prevent tool marks from penetrating the paintwork. You can then paint the panel surface but use a 2 part catalytic paint. Matthews paint is usually the standard for this. Do not use a paint rattle can, as it doesn’t harden like a 2-part and becomes soft due to heat during metal finishing which causes other problems.No need to worry about masking any text as that is covered in the next step.

After the panels are painted and completely cured, the next step is to finish with a wide belt.
