The only downside is that the colored paint doesn’t cover well without multiple coats and it seems to be due to the finish of the wood. Once painted and clear coated, it looks great.

How To Make Diy Paper Mache Photo Letters

Choose some letters, I used paper mache letters, but I’ve used wooden letters in the past. Both work great.

Next, you’ll want to select some paper. I picked up a cute pad of notepad paper at Michaels (with a coupon, of course!). I chose a different pattern for each letter, so there are 5 different patterns below.

Next, get out your Mod Podge and a brush. I used a foam brush because I had it around.

Before the mod podge dries, place it on the back of your chosen paper, making sure the printed side is facing out. I made the mistake of putting the letter with glue facing down on the printed side of the paper…oops!

Light Up Floral Monogram Letter

Now, grab your Exacto knife (or something sharp that can cut with some precision). I find it easier to cut the letters out of the paper after gluing them to the paper. I think it’s too hard for me to cut the paper first and then line them up with any precision when glue has been applied.

After cutting out the letters, apply 2 coats of Mod Podge to the paper side of the letter, allowing the coats to dry between applications. If the paper is bubbling around the edges, just apply some Mod Podge and place a book or something heavy on top of the letter.

Once you’ve applied all the layers of Mod Podge, you’re done
