Woodward, internationally bestselling author of an unprecedented and intimate tour de force of original reporting on the Trump presidency from Bob Woodward. Rage goes behind the scenes like never before, revealing stunning new details about early national security decisions and actions and Trump’s actions as he faces a global pandemic, economic disaster and racial unrest. Woodward, the #1 internationally bestselling author of 13 #1 bestsellers, including Fear: Trump in the White House, makes Trump look all the closer to him ahead of the 2020 presidential election. President Trump has publicly stated that Woodward interviewed him. What’s not known is that Trump gave Woodward a window into his mind through a series of exclusive interviews. In key decision points, Rage shows how Trump’s responses to the 2020 crisis were rooted in the instincts, habits and style he developed during his first three years as president. Rage draws from several hours of interviews with direct witnesses, as well as participant notes, emails, diaries, calendars, and confidential documents. Woodward obtained 25 previously undisclosed private letters exchanged between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Kim described the bond between the two leaders as a “fantasy film” as the two leaders engaged in an extraordinary diplomatic minuet. Anger will be the keynote of the Trump presidency, its turmoil, conflict and risk. This is an essential document for any voter looking for an accurate insider’s view of Trump’s year—volatile and vivid. …more

New Authorities, Works, And Disciplines

From reading some reviews–and only reviews–elsewhere on the Internet, it seems the author or RAGE tracked the President’s performance based on nitpicking facts, innuendo, and selecting the right people to respond to, all the while missing the big picture. If I ever read the book, I might change my comments but I rarely have time for trivia. What’s the scoop?

It’s … More If you’ve ever read a Bob Woodward book, you know he doesn’t write rumors and innuendo. All but one conversation with Trump was recorded. This is a great book and well worth the time to read. In many ways, I believe even Trump supporters can appreciate this book, especially if they are open-minded. (less)

The immortality that Trump is desperately searching for has already been created by helping to unleash a plague after a WW3-style nuclear escalation that could lead to a major war by reducing racism, hatred, and misogyny. Like a child, he cannot take any criticism, cannot end the deviant phase. It’s certainly psychologically interesting, especially regarding latent and clinical pathology, but there should be no mechanism to ensure that the mentality that Trump is desperately searching for has already been created by unwittingly helping to unleash a plague after almost happening. A WW3 style nuclear escalation that could lead to a major war while minimizing racism, hatred and misogyny. Like a child, he cannot take any criticism, cannot end the deviant phase. It is certainly psychologically interesting, especially regarding latent and clinical pathology, but shouldn’t there be a mechanism to ensure that the president, ministers and members of the vital base of democracy are mentally stable? Not uncertain, not easily broken, built on solid logic, not on trickery and false accusations? Trump’s relationship with Kim is a prime example of an autocratic, social media-obsessed hedonist falling in love with a dictator, more interested in showing Woodward pictures of him and Kim than talking about the geopolitical and macroeconomic consequences. of historical events. Not that he would have been able to answer the simplest questions about these things without preparation, perhaps most of these interviews were about him, his attitude, and the fact that people love him because he is who he is. I treated myself, again, as a child. That Trump wants to immortalize himself is evident not only in the historic milestone of talking to Kim, but in trying to give Woodward a poster, decorating the White House desk like a PR table, and generally just obsessing over him. His response via news and social media. Not serious books, not serious news channels, not magazines, the president watches TV and frantically and obsessively scrolls social media timelines to determine what is best for his reputation, sometimes for the country. It’s not as if there will be enough monuments, world wonders and megalomaniac buildings to demonstrate their importance and show the desperate search for honor of powerful men. Amazing and needless to say that they didn’t or didn’t get the idea to do it with reforms and positive social and cultural evolution. Why not talking about the secret nuclear weapons program? It would be even cooler if it was live at a press conference while his generals are facepalming and rolling their eyes in the background. Could make a great meme Perhaps he would have mentioned where it was researched. It is one of these points, the threat of nuclear war, that leads one to ask whether too much power is not yet concentrated in too few hands, especially because I naively think that there are many advisers, aides and lobbyists that help any high-ranking member of government make decisions. It seems to me awfully like the leaders still have some, potentially deadly, power left over that they find amusing, I mean, how mutually assured destruction is that? One must imagine that the leading staff were extremely concerned and said they thought the President was incompetent, dangerous and generally completely incompetent with no real attention span, ability to reflect and understand and many other issues. No one knows if this is completely normal for Trump or if it is just his age, but it again opens up the question of how this is possible in a democracy, where a representative function like a president should be controlled by other elected officials. A member of the government or any similar controlling paradigm entity, he can act as he wishes. It’s not really what one understands and imagines when thinking about democratic elections, it’s more of an autocratic style of government, so how is it possible that a few strange people still have so much power in their hands without any instance of control? I know I’m redundant in the last 2 paragraphs, but especially since the danger of the covid 19 pandemic was known from the first day of February and no one responded in an appropriate way, nowhere, not in Europe, not in the US, only Korea and Japan are going in a sensible direction, let’s Wondering how, why and especially, again when? The next wonder is what the government knows for months, but because the king or chancellor or leader or whatever is in a bad mood or disinterested, it’s just hiding. Without being completely ageist, one has to ask, just as in the case of certain jobs or one day driving, if there should not be tests and/or age limits for certain jobs. Ironically, it is logical for a surgeon or pilot who can injure or kill only one or a few hundred people, while world leaders capable of harming and injuring millions of people in their own countries and worldwide, are free to act as long as they want, even though it is biological. Argument that at a certain, highly individual level, age affects the ability to work. It’s ridiculous that every country has politicians who are over 65, but the US is actually breaking the record, in other countries it might be impossible to spin candidates like a doctor or, as the kids wisely said https://www. youtube.com/watch?v=D0ZTK… Some candidates will not be elected by enlightened citizens. No sophisticated adult would ever dare to respond by asking why this very old, apparently so healthy and mentally unfit great grandfather should be president, how long will he live, etc. Subjective note: So I’m surprised, inspired, and still hopeful, but extremely cynical about anyone over the age of 25 to 30. It’s forbidden to think that political correctness and misunderstanding of adults is due to the stupidity of politeness, but that can be as wrong as it gets. of course
