How To Draw Bubble Letters In Easy Step By Step Drawing Tutorial For Kids

For those of you who don’t know what balloon lettering is, it’s basically a typeface where the letters appear puffy and puffy like balloons – hence the name.

Bubble letters are easy to learn and fun to make, but it’s easy to get lost in the process if you don’t know some basics.

Bubble letters are quite common in graffiti, but in this tutorial we will only talk about how to create bubble letters on paper.

There are different ways to create bubble letters and in this tutorial I will show you the simplest way to do it.

The idea behind bubble letters is to have rounded (outer) edges instead of sharp edges like block letters.

After we’ve added a thick outline around the letter, we can remove the initial shape we made at the beginning.

– I said that we don’t have any sharp outer edges, but keeping them inside helps create the puffy/flared look we’re after.

In the example below, you can see the difference between a sharp inner edge (left) and an all-rounded edge (right).

I see a lot of beginners have a hard time adding shadows correctly, and if you’re just starting out, it can be tricky.

This means that the shadow will appear on each side of the bottom and left side – basically the opposite side of the light source.

Highlights are the parts of the object that are closest to the light source.
