Large open wood letters can be made with MDO (Medium Density Overlay). These oversized wooden letters have a smooth finish on the front and back and visible layers on the sides. They are ready to be sealed with primer and exterior latex paint. Do it yourself or have us finish them with automotive paint.

We offer mounting studs for stain-free installation. The mounting studs should be glued into the holes drilled in the back of the letter and installed with a paper mounting template showing the location of the studs. Letters can also be installed with construction grade adhesive.

The height of the letter you order is based on the capital letter “A” of the font you specified. Depending on the font, some upper/lower case letters may be shorter or taller than the height you specify on the order form so that they appear proportional. Therefore, you may receive some of your letters in a different size than the letter height ordered. If all letters are ordered lowercase, we still scale the letter to an uppercase “A”, which will make most letters smaller than ordered. I loved this product from the moment I saw it in the catalog. It looked medium colored in the catalog. When I got it, it was a very light color and blended in with the initial swirls. I wish you offered it in old world bronze or something darker than what is offered. I had to paint the grille to go with my decor which added to the price. It’s still a very stylish item.

It’s so cool in real life! I put it over my fireplace and it looks amazing! High quality and unique!

I just got this and it’s nice, but for the price it should have a mount. Also, the thing was spinning inside the box. There were no screws holding it in because they were broken and it wasn’t even in the box. In the video it was bubble wrapped and when I got mine it wasn’t and the box was torn and the mounting screws were missing. For the amount we pay for shipping, this should not happen. As for the art, it is very beautiful and will look great on the exterior of our new home.

I am very disappointed that it does not come with mounting hardware or assembly instructions! I will have to take this to the hardware store for help.

Onlne note – the placement of the hanger hooks makes hanging very difficult – better placement of them would certainly help! We are very pleased with this piece!
