Enforcing Conformity: Home Improvement Projects And Architectural Review Boards In Hoas — Homeowners Protection Bureau, Llc
During each executive session, your Board considers appropriate action regarding homeowners in our community who are behind in paying their assessments. Last month, we took action to foreclose on liens on five properties, and this month, we considered other seriously delinquent accounts during the afternoon session. It should be noted that the vast majority of our neighbors fulfill the association’s financial responsibilities. However, there are very few who do not. As I stated in the President’s Report in this month’s Spirit, we believe it is not in the best interest of our Association for your Board to allow certain homeowners to continue to neglect their financial responsibilities to our neighbors. I am happy to report that at least one of the five homes that the Board took action on in October has paid its balance in full. We also determined that another home in the city of Henderson was in foreclosure. As a result the Association has not received and will not receive any funds.
I plan to continue the discussion of foreclosure in the January Spirit, which provides more detail on the impact on the association, financial and otherwise.
During the afternoon executive session, our board authorized the foreclosure of nineteen homes. This process will continue after the first of the year. “
