Words With Rin In Them 5 Letters
Josh Wordle, a programmer who previously developed social experiments Place and The Button for Reddit, invented Wordle, a web-based word game released in October 2021. Players have six chances to guess a five-letter word; Feedback is provided in the form of colored tiles for each guess, indicating which letters are in the correct position and which are in other positions of the answer word. The mechanics are similar to those found in games like Mastermind, except that Wordle determines which letters in each guess are correct. Each day has a specific answer word that is the same for everyone. If you want to receive similar articles directly to your inbox. Also, don’t forget to register

. We’re going to be talking about Station Eleven, but you don’t have to read the novel or watch the series…it’s a springboard for conversations about survival and thriving and the stories that keep us going.
At some point every day for the past 29 days, the “next right thing” for me has been Wordle. Sometimes it’s in the middle of the night when I try to calm down and go back to sleep. Or in a break between meetings. Or in the morning… much better than drowning in the news.
It’s okay to keep fun things fun. But Wordle was also self-comfort and self-service. Here are five reasons why I love Wordle and how it’s given me perspective on life lately.
1. Boundaries can be comforting. I know I’m not alone in this, but one of my favorite things about Wordle is that it offers one puzzle per day and then you’re good to go. There are fake games that you can play without limits – Robert also likes Nerdle, a math puzzle game – but I haven’t even explored them. In a world of “bigger is better,” I’m relieved to know that this wordplay can’t take over my life. It’s a chocolate truffle, not a bag of M&M’s that you polish off yourself.

2. This is not a race. Thank you, Josh Wardle, for not making the game in time. Although there are limits to the gameplay (you only get six guesses), you can take your time, even put the game down and come back to it. I find it rare and valuable to have a low-stress vacation that allows me to set my own pace and takes as long as it takes.
3. Useful connections are a gift. My teenagers play Wordle. So is my mother. I’m not on social media much so I don’t know if people are still sharing their Wordle results. (Probably not… Wordle is so outdated and uncool that the **New York Times** now owns it, for God’s sake.) Still, it’s fun for my family to have something we share every day. Connections matter (and in the case of this horror story, apparently Wordle saves lives?!?).
4. Life is full of patterns AND unpredictability. Most Wordle solutions start with a consonant, except for the ones that don’t (IRONY). It is unusual for a letter to be repeated in the same word, but sometimes it happens (STUDY). After playing around with Wordle for a while, you start to see trends and guidelines that allow you to make educated guesses… but there’s also enough novelty to keep things from getting boring.
5. Failure is feedback. It’s nice to see those yellow and green rectangles flip over to indicate the correct letter, and annoying that there’s a gray line instead. But wrong guesses are also important information to help you solve the game: that’s 5 less letters out of 26 to worry about. I wish failure wasn’t such a common teacher in life, but it is.

In October 2021, developer Josh Wardle released Wordle(Opens in a new window) . By the end of the year, the pun had turned from a private inside joke into a public sensation on social media. If your Twitter feed is anything like mine, you’ll be bombarded with Wordle results every day in January. Wordle is everywhere. This article is part of the problem.
In an age where even the best games have questionable disclaimers, it’s nice to see everyone rallying around something as simple and clean as Wordle. Still, nothing good can last in this world, so I’m constantly paranoid that the other shoe will drop soon. If endless conversations about Wordle go down a dark path, we will only destroy something that brings us so much joy. So this is my request. Everyone, I’m begging you, please don’t destroy Wordle.

When something goes off in the night, it creates a lot of confusion for people who don’t understand what it is, and that confusion can lead to bad moods. So, first let’s explain what Wordle is.
Wordle is a free browser-based word guessing game that’s more like Hangman than a little crossword puzzle. You have six chances to guess a five-letter word, and each guess provides clues to make your next guess a little more educated. If the letter is gray, it means that it is not in the word at all. If the letter is yellow, it means that the letter is in the word, but in the wrong place. If the letter is green, it is the correct letter in the correct place. The correct answer is five green letters in a row.
Similar to, say, Zack Gage’s mobile game, Wordle displays a striking elegance in its simple design. With only five letters, guessing random words never feels like a completely unfair shot in the dark, and the words themselves are rarely obscure. People have developed Wordle strategies such as always opening the same words to knock out common letters. The way clues naturally guide you to better guesses, bringing you closer to “Eureka!” moment, provides exciting momentum. It’s not “tired”. The “rotor” is almost there. This is “Robot!” And on the rare occasion that you get it right on the first or second try, it makes you feel like an absolute genius.
Compare Wordle to the popular gaming sensation HQ Trivia. This mobile game show that paid real money to winners was pure chaos. In the end, people were more engrossed in the real-life drama surrounding the on-air hosts than the game itself (shout out to Scott (Opens in a new window).) Wordle is the complete opposite. Wordle is quiet and cozy, a nice little puzzle for people who deal with words every day. Nothing in this indicates a bad mood. However, that didn’t stop some people from spoiling the mood.

The internet has a magical ability to turn even the most innocent things into heated culture wars, and Wordle is no exception. The biggest triumph of Wordle’s meta design is that you can only play one game per day and everyone else online is also playing the same game. We are all trying to guess the same word. As of this writing, we’re at Wordle 215. This creates a shared social experience that definitely contributes to Wordle’s success as a viral phenomenon.
Even Wordle’s quietly brilliant, minimalist visual design contributes to this spread. By simply posting a grid of colored squares on Twitter, you can reveal your way to solving that day’s puzzle
