Droid Crossword 3 Letters

Droid Crossword 3 Letters – Crossword puzzles have been published in newspapers and other publications since 1873. They consist of a grid of squares where the player strives to write words horizontally and vertically.

Next to the crossword will be a series of questions or clues, related to the different rows or lines of blocks in the crossword. The player reads the question or clue, and tries to find a word that answers the question in the same number of letters as there are squares in the related crossword row or line.

Some of the words will share letters, so will have to match each other. The words can vary in length and complexity, as can the clues.

Crosswords are a good exercise for students’ problem solving and cognitive abilities. Not only do they have to solve a clue and think of the correct answer, but they also have to consider all the other words in the crossword puzzle to make sure the words fit together.

If this is the first time you’ve used a crossword with your students, you can create a crossword FAQ template for them to give them the basic instructions.

All of our templates can be exported to Microsoft Word for easy printing, or you can save your work as a PDF to print for the whole class. Your puzzles are saved to your account for easy access and printing in the future, so you don’t have to worry about saving them at work or at home!

Note: “This crossword puzzle was the most discussed puzzle at Lollapuzzoola 7, a tournament held in New York on August 9. The event was directed by Brian Cimmet and Patrick Blindauer. Hint: The title is the key to solving the puzzle. Time limit : 45 minutes.” Across answers are incompatible with the Downs unless you “change” their “hearts” (i.e. middle letters). Sure, you get the answers wrong in the Acrosses, but you get the Downs right, *and* you have a plausible grid to start with, with real words / phrases / names / abbrs. arising from all the changed “hearts.” (All “heart” “changes” shown in red on the grid above)

Gerardo Mejía (born April 16, 1965), better known simply as Gerardo, is a Latin actor and singer who later became a recording industry executive, and more recently a youth pastor. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, he and his family moved to Glendale, California when he was 12 years old. Based in Los Angeles, California, Gerardo became known for his bandana, tight jeans, closure and shirtless torso. He sometimes refers to himself as the “LatinElvis”, the “LatinFrank Sinatra” or the Latin “Tony Zuzio” or “Joe Rider”. (wikipedia)

If you only solved your puzzles Downs (as some expert solvers are known to do, especially on early-week puzzles), then you would have a perfect grid without ever realizing there was a trick, twist or theme of any kind. Acrosses would all have seemed fine, and you had no reason to doubt any of your answers. In fact, your answers would have been “correct”—the answers the computer considers correct anyway. I really wasn’t sure how I was supposed to fill this thing out, even after figuring out the core gimmick. Well, actually at first I *thought* I had the trick figured out, but I overdid it—I thought *every* middle letter, in both Acrosses *and* Downs, was different in both directions. Needless to say, my grid was riddled with blank squares, in which I had no idea what to put. Then I finally realized oh, it’s only the Across answers that have the “heart problems” (a less breakfast table worthy title for this puzzle…). Then things got a lot easier. I thought that maybe something would be spelled out, that there would be a pattern in the changes of heart… but no. You just change the “correct” Across answer to match the Down answer. Never mind the “wrong” answer in the Across – your grid still looks great.

I don’t know what to say about this puzzle. Hard to talk about fill quality and all that in a puzzle so thematically limited. I do think it is important that all the Downs are Super known, especially the ones that go through “hearts” because technically those crosses are not true crosses ie. normally you have two chances on each letter—the Across and the Down—but not here. If you don’t know a Down that runs through an Across “heart”, then the only thing that can help you is knowing that the Across, even with the changed “heart”, should form a real possible crossword answer. But you can’t really *know* that about the puzzle except by inference, probably after you’ve already completed the puzzle. It is enough to say that I fear for the people who have never heard of GERARDO. GE- are really the only plausible letters to derive this from, as they are the only ones that make meaningful Acrosses, but again, if you don’t know to make meaningful Acrosses (there’s nothing telling you that you do ), and you’re not up for your one- (maybe two-) hit wonders of the early ’90s, then yikes.

I think that’s all I have to say today. I predict feelings will be mixed on this one. I am divided. I kind of wish there was something to tie it all together, something punchy and unifying, something more than just the title. But it’s unique and ambitious and memorable—all good(ish) things.

Weirdest moment—just now realizing that the [spoiler alert!] in the clue for EARTH (26D: “Planet of the Apes” planet [spoiler alert!]) refers to the end of the movie. I thought it referred to the puzzle itself, ie. EARTH is, literally, a “Change of HEART.” Needless to say, thinking that EARTH was a theme answer caused some, uh, confusion. I kept waiting for other changes from HART, like, uh… HATER? I don’t know.Rapper who is one half of Run the Jewels / WED 4-21-21 / Goddess and ruler of witches in Macbeth / T’ang dynasty poet / Likely inspiration for Meryl Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada / Neopagan religion / Stand-up comedian who voiced Remy in Ratatouille / Popular holiday gift of 2001 / Little Jack Horner’s Christmas treat

It’s so well-intentioned, and there are some names I was very happy to see, but I have to start with the obvious, which is that the theme is logically broken. It wants you to think it isn’t, but it is. The logic is that the letters in the ‘droid names are the initials of famous people. In each case, it is the initials that matter, not the mere presence of the letters in the name. R2 = RYAN REYNOLDS, not, I don’t know, MARY PICKFORD. The latter does have two R’s, but, as you know, that’s not the point. The initials are the point. In each case. Except COCO CHANEL, where we are asked to accept it
