Sunday, August 28, 2022: Deadline to submit an online Fulbright application and participate in a Campus Review & Feedback session

Teaching In The ‘silicon Valley’ Of Mexico

The campus review and feedback process is done to enhance the overall application, not to exclude anyone from the process. The campus committee meeting serves two purposes:

The Spring Fulbright Writing Workshop is a two-part series led by staff and faculty of the Writing Program. The first workshop will introduce the Fulbright Student Program USA and the campus application process. Participants will then divide into small groups to review successful essay examples by funding type. The second panel will feature a panel of recent USC Fulbright recipients, followed by panel discussions to discuss the ingredients that make their application documents compelling.

The purpose of the Fulbright Claims Advisory Day is to provide feedback on your application documentation. Participation is optional, but strongly encouraged. A Fulbright Program Advisor or a Writing Program instructor will meet with you for 30 minutes in a pre-assigned meeting.

To confirm your appointment request, you must submit your updated resume, short answer, and draft Statement of Sponsorship Purpose and your Personal Statement. While a draft does not need to be a finished product, we hope your ideas will be supplemented as paragraphs that meet the page requirements. Short answers are part of the Fulbright application package and are chronologically the first thing the reviewer sees, so they should be approached thoughtfully along with the Statement of Sponsorship Purpose. and Personal Statement. Brainstorming outlines and maps will not be accepted.

Eta Reference Form And Instructions

Make sure you remind your recommenders that their letters are due before the campus deadline. Fulbright requires the submission of letters of recommendation online. Please ensure that you have correctly entered the referrer’s information into the online registration system. This will generate an email for them with a username and password, allowing them to upload their own messages. It is not recommended to send hard copies.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all of your letters of recommendation and foreign language assessment(s) are uploaded before the campus deadline. Please do not call or email to inquire about the completeness of your application. You can check on the Fulbright application system to see if letters of recommendation and language assessment have been uploaded and submitted.

What is the purpose of the campus interview? The purpose of the on-campus interview is to provide more information about your candidacy for the National Screening Committee. Interviews are your only chance to state directly why you want to teach, study or research abroad. Each candidate will be interviewed individually for approximately 30 minutes by a panel of UA faculty and staff. Panel members can ask students about contacts they have made abroad, academic preparation for study, knowledge of the host country, and language training.

How does the panel evaluate applicants? The panel’s assessment of your application is based on a review of your completed application and an on-campus interview. A panel of the Screening Committee will evaluate the content and feasibility of your proposal, your language preparation, your knowledge of the host country, etc., and then complete the Schedule grassroots committee evaluation form. The panel will evaluate your candidate. The campus interview is NOT a mechanism for disqualifying applicants, but it is a mechanism for evaluating — not ranking — applicants. Your rating will not be disclosed to you at any time, nor will you provide feedback on the Campus Committee Confidential Review Form.

PLEASE NOTE: No one will be disqualified from the competition at the school level. UA is required by the IIE (the organization that administers the Fulbright Program) to forward all submitted applications, regardless of school board ratings.

What is the structure of the control panel? In most cases, we do our best to tailor the panels to your project and country. In fact, members can be former Fulbright recipients, native speakers of your home country, or an individual in your area of expertise. Although we have a large number of faculty and staff members who serve as committee members, you may not always be interviewed by someone in your field. Committee members typically have years of experience working with Fulbright applications and they understand very well what makes a good application. In addition, your application at the country level will not only be read by people specific to your field of study, but also by others with knowledge of the country or region you wish to visit. .

Please don’t worry if your campus interview panel includes faculty and staff from outside your study area. In fact, one of Fulbright’s key concepts is being able to clearly present your proposal to a “non-specialist” audience.

Please note that the on-campus interview is to support your application and is not a determining factor in your application. The interview and assessment are intended to provide the National Screening Committee with as much information to work with as possible, and are therefore very important. School-level interviews will be your only interview through the Fulbright process, with some exceptions (for example:
